Crunchy French Toast

French toast is a pretty basic breakfast for many people. So, I decided to give it a twist and make it a more fun dish all in all. This recipe is so simple to make and is yet so flavourful.

Ingredients

  1. 1 egg

  2. 1/4 teaspoon vanilla essence

  3. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder

  4. 1/2 teaspoon powdered sugar plus more to sift on top when cooked

  5. 1 slice of bread

  6. about 50g of cornflakes

  7. butter for cooking

  8. brown sugar to sprinkle


Makes: 2 ( feel free to double or triple the recipe as per your needs)

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes


Procedure

  1. The egg and add the vanilla essence, cinnamon, and sugar

  2. Crush the cornflakes and spread them over a plate.

  3. Cut the bread into halves and dip each one in the egg mixture before coating it with the cornflakes.

  4. In a pan melt the butter on low heat, then put in the bread.

  5. Sprinkle brown sugar on the surface of each toast then flip it and let it cook for 5-7 minutes.

  6. Sprinkle brown sugar on the second side then flip again and continue cooking for another 3-5 minutes until brown.

  7. Serve on a plate and sift some powdered sugar onto them.

  8. Enjoy!
